Station Guide
Hakata Station is the gateway to Kyushu and the Shinkansen terminal for southern Japan. The station has undergone major redevelopment with the addition of the Hakata City complex, featuring shops, restaurants, a rooftop garden, and the AMU Plaza department store.
💡 Tip: Best ramen in the station basement — Fukuoka is the birthplace of tonkotsu.
The Chikushi Exit leads to the bus terminal and Canal City (10 min walk). The Hakata Exit connects to the city center, Nakasu entertainment district, and the hotel zone. The Tsukushi Exit is on the east side for local connections.

The station basement (Dekimachi-dori) has a legendary ramen street with Hakata-style tonkotsu shops. Ichiran and Ippudo both have branches here. For yatai (food stall) atmosphere, walk to Nakasu Island in the evening (10 min walk).
