Station Guide
Sapporo Station is Hokkaido's rail hub with an extensive underground walkway system connecting to department stores, hotels, and the subway. The station sits at the northern end of Odori Park and serves as the starting point for exploring Hokkaido.
💡 Tip: Buy the Hokkaido Rail Pass at the JR Information Desk on the 2nd floor.
The South Exit leads to Odori Park, Susukino entertainment district, and the TV Tower (all within walking distance). The North Exit connects to the Hokkaido University area and the former Hokkaido Government Building (Akarenga).
JR Hokkaido conventional lines (Hakodate Main Line, Chitose Line, Sassho Line), Sapporo Municipal Subway (Namboku Line, Tozai Line, Toho Line). JR Bus terminal for long-distance routes.
The Sapporo Ramen Yokocho is a 5-minute walk from the South Exit — try the miso ramen at one of the 17 shops. The station's ESTA building has a food floor with soup curry and Hokkaido seafood. For a splurge, try the seafood buffet at the JR Tower Hotel.
